At the request of industry, CSA International developed this T.I.L. to harmonize more closely our

requirements with those of IEC and the United States.

Part C  -  Delayed Withdrawal Dates

In view of the delay of the withdrawal of UL469, UL813 and UL 1492 to January 1, 2010, the withdrawal dates of CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1-98to has been delayed to January 1, 2010.

Interim Certification Requirements for Portable Incandescent Lighting Strings

This Certification Informs announces the publication of Technical Information Letter (T.I.L.) No. B-31B dated January 31, 2003 (copy attached) as the replacement for T.I.L. B-31A. This new T.I.L. cover the following modifications:

 

1.        Expansion of the types of flexible cords intended for portable lighting strings to include equivalent constructions suitable for extra hard-usage outdoor locations. This TIL allows for the use of specifically designed cords for portable lighting strings that may have physical dimensions differing from those specified in Table 11 of the Canadian Electrical Code but are equivalent in their construction performance characteristics;

2.        Deletion of the cold impact test; and

3.        Clarification of the weatherproofness test, Clause 4.1.(g).

 

CSA于2003年1月31日发布了技术文件T.I.L. No. B-31B，用以取代T.I.L. No. B-31A。该技术文件对以下几点进行修订：

-      增加了可移动式白炽灯串的电源线类型以覆盖特别恶劣的户外环境。该T.I.L.允许特制电线使用于可移动式白炽灯串中。特制电线的物理尺寸可以和加拿大电工手册中表11的要求不同，但特制电线的结构和性能必须与表11的要求相当。

-      删除了冷冲击测试；

-           对户外环境综合测试作出了阐述，见条款4.1.(g)。
